I worked composing and designing sound for The Camp, an audio drama set in the infamous Theresienstadt “camp-ghetto” during WWII. Below is an excerpt from the hour+ full length production.

For this particular scene I created musical accompaniment for a solo vocal performance which weaves in and out of the narration.

Since the vocals we’re performed a capella and not to a backing track, the first step was some gentle pitch correction so that it played nice and in key with any music. Then, after composing the backing track, all that remained was the sound design to place the performance in a 1940s cabaret club.

The Camp audio drama was written by Neil Edwards, directed by Emily Bignell, and produced by the Shooting Fish theatre company in the UK.
